RAIN REIGN, by Ann M. Martin

The story: Rose is a lover of homophones, prime numbers, and rules. She always keeps the rules. So when her dog is lost in a storm, then found again, everything would seem to be perfect. But when she discovers that her dog was microchipped by its former owner, this girl with Asperger’s determines that she needs to do the right thing and return Rain to her rightful owner–even if doing so will cause her more heartache and unforeseen trouble than she can imagine.

Mrs. Friend’s opinion: I liked this one a lot–and if you do too, take a look at “Wonder” by R.J. Palacios, as well as “The London Eye Mystery”, by Siobhan Dowd. Both of them give readers a chance to look at what it’s like to be different through the eyes of the one who is.
