THE SWEETHEART OF PROSPER COUNTY, by Jill Alexander

Can Austin make a change and not chicken out?

Austin Gray is tired of having the parade of  life pass her by.  She wants to be in it!   (She also wants creepy Dean Ottmer to stop harrassing her.)  So she makes a plan to become next year’s FFA Sweetheart so she can really, truly ride in the parade.  Of course, that involves raising a farm animal (enter Charles Dickens, a truly charming show chicken) and wrestling a 70-pound catfish.  Who knew?  It also involves trying to convince her mother, still grieving over the death of Austin’s father six years earlier, to ease up and let Austin live her own life, complete with mistakes.  Can she do it?  You bet your Sweet Heart!
