MAZE RUNNER, by James Dashner

Solve the maze, save your life.

Thomas wakes up on a freight elevator with no memory of his former life, not knowing where the elevator is heading.  He’s dumped into a compound that is surrounded by The Maze, and soon learns that if a person wanders into The Maze by mistake, or is left there overnight, the half-machine, half-animal Grievers will hack him into small bits.  That’s not the weirdest part, either:  the next day, the elevator brings up the compound’s first girl, along with a note that she’s the last person who will ever be delivered.  There will be no more food or supplies.  Suddenly, everyone realizes that they will have to find their way through The Maze or they’re all going to die.  Does Thomas have a part to play?  Only his faulty memory can guide him…
